Low-alloy high-strength steel plate is a type of high-strength and ductile steel with a low content of alloy. It is commonly used in the manufacture of critical structural components for large machinery, vehicles, bridges, and other engineering structures. 


Steel types: Q345B, Q420B, 16Mn, 20MnV, etc.

These are common steel types used in low-alloy high-strength steel plates. Q345B and Q420B are two commonly used steel types in China, listed in GB/T 700-2006, which represents low-alloy high-strength structural steel with a carbon content of less than 0.22% and 0.30%, respectively. 16Mn and 20MnV are two commonly used steel types in international standards such as ASTM A572, which represent low-alloy high-strength structural steel with carbon contents of 0.12% and 0.15%, respectively.

These standards specify the chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and other requirements for low-alloy high-strength steel plates. GB/T 700-2006 is a Chinese national standard that lists the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and dimension requirements for Q345B, Q420B, and other steel types. ASTM A572 is an international standard published by the American Society for Testing and Materials that specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and dimension requirements for 16Mn and 20MnV steel types.


Applications: Commonly used in construction structures, bridges, ships, machinery fields, etc., such as beams, columns, main frames of bridges.

Low-alloy high-strength steel plates have higher strength and ductility than traditional high-strength steels while having a lower content of alloy. Therefore, they are lighter than high-strength steels. Due to their good weldability and processing capabilities, they can meet various complex manufacturing requirements. Low-alloy high-strength steel plates are widely used in construction structures, bridges, ships, machinery fields, and other fields.


Rolling range: Two ways of rolling can be used: hot rolling or cold rolling. The rolling thickness is generally between 8mm to 60mm.

Low-alloy high-strength steel plates can be rolled through two methods: hot rolling or cold rolling. Hot rolling is a process of rolling the steel billet at high temperatures to produce a thicker plate. Cold rolling is a process of rolling the steel sheet at room temperature to produce a thinner plate with better surface quality and mechanical properties. The rolling thickness of low-alloy high-strength steel plates is generally between 8mm to 60mm.


Surface treatment: Can be galvanized or painted to improve their corrosion resistance and appearance.

To improve the corrosion resistance and appearance of low-alloy high-strength steel plates, surface treatment such as galvanization or painting can be carried out. Galvanization is a process of coating the steel surface with zinc to prevent corrosion and oxidation. Painting is a process of spraying special paint on the steel surface to improve its appearance and corrosion resistance.
